San Carlos – Las Glorias – Mazatlan

We left San Carlos on Feb 1st headed toward Guasaves and Mr. Moro RV Park on the beach in Las Glorias.

This drive was along a toll road and through an agricultural area.  We made the big mistake of going into the town of Guasaves looking for a supermarket.  We will learn not to do this in a large motorhome, I hope.  Then we started to follow the RVer’s bible,  Traveller’s Guide to Mexican Camping by Mike and Terri Church, for the 25 km drive to the beach.  We were driving on very bumpy paved roads, through fields and fields of corn and tomatoes, with tractors and trucks pulling wagons stuffed to the brim.

When we made it to Mr Moro RV Park, we found one RV parked near the beach.  And what a beach, it was a long stretch of nice sand and many shells thrown on the beach by the waves!

When we started to set up camp we found our bed almost off of the frame with a terrified Jazzy almost inside my pillow, the fan had fallen off of the wall, the cutlery drawer had shaken loose, the cutting board had fallen.  We decided there and then  to not go 25km off of the beaten track again.  It would be fine in a truck or jeep  but not in our rig (and especially at the speeds Al likes to drive)

It was a nice park with many wild, but lovely and friendly dogs but as dark fell the bugs came out.

In the morning we said goodbye to the beach and headed off along the bumpy road (slower this time).

Christi this picture of the flowers is for you.  I saw these growing along the road and thought of you.  Sorry the picture isn’t great but I have enough problems with shaky hands without the road being bad.

We drove the toll roads into Mazatlan, what nice roads!  Very agricultural areas but it reminded us of Manitoba, fields of corn and tomatoes.

We made it safe and sound and pulled into the San Fernando RV Park just shortly after 2pm.  By the way it was 31 degrees...oh yes, we drove across the Tropic of Cancer today!  Here are some pics of us parked behind the palms and us in the pool and hot tub.

Hasta Luega....
