Hacienda Contreras – Trip to the Castle

On the hill overlooking the RV Park is what is commonly referred to as the Castle. 

A local man and his wealthy wife decided to start building on the hill they inherited from his family. 

They worked for many years building, planting etc and they had plans to open it as a restaurant when his wife got ill.  The place sits empty except for the caretakers that live and work there, keeping the grounds in immaculate shape.  

Sal told us that it is used for weddings occasionally.  Such a beautiful place, it could be a big tourist attraction if it was in an area with more tourists…
