Cranbrook

On Tuesday, September 10th we pulled into Al's sister and brother-in-law's house in the Gold Creek area of Cranbrook.  They live on 5 acres with a few animals lots of plants and wildlife.

and last but not least the chickens..

On Sunday, we took a drive to Idlewild Park which is about 2 mins away...

and then drove around town.  We found a couple of yards we liked..

hope they didn't mind us snapping pictures!

The tumultuous last three weeks

We decided that we needed a vehicle!  After spending most of 2013 car-less, we were tired of walking, bussing or begging rides or borrowing  vehicles.  We went to Maple Ridge Chrysler and bought a 2010 Jeep Liberty.  From now on known as “Jeepers”

So we drove the jeep up to Osoyoos to bring the motorhome back to the coast.

Everything ran great in both the motorhome and jeep and we parked the motorhome on the street around the corner from our daughter Alyssa’s house, while we unpacked all of our possessions which had been in storage since Al’s return from Manitoba.

the storage locker!
it's all moved in..

With all of our running around Al ended up with a summer cold and he was feeling miserable and grumpy while unpacking when he slipped on the stairs of the motorhome and landed sideways on his foot. Yup! A broken bone later and he is in a cast and on crutches.

We helped our daughter, Christi move into her new townhouse, of course Al was on supervisor duty and I was on Alex duty, following him around.

Christi saying "where am I going to put all this"

Jackie and Brian helped

Corry and Stephen got the important stuff done..

We moved into a Aldergrove RV Park for a few days.

daughter, Alyssa helped to get us settled..

One week later he had the cast removed and a “boot” put on.

the $200 boot..

We headed out on our first road trip in Dino with Al driving and me following behind in Jeepers! We were on our way to Cranbrook and spent the first night at Kettle Valley Villas and RV Park.  A lovely little park behind a small golf course.

And then we parked on Al’s sister’s yard on the outskirts of Cranbrook.
